Drawing Like Nobody is Reading: Chatting With Ben Snakepit

Posted on July 24, 2012 at 8:00pm 0 Comments

Ben Snakepit is an Austin institution, with his nifty, funny, self-depreciating autobiographical comic, Snakepit. I never got to meet him, when we both lived in Austin, but I was always excited (and a little jealous) when a new Snakepit came out. He is the kind of writer and artist that makes a day sitting alone at a café sound like the best thing in the world. This is actually the second time Ben will have appeared in TFH. Back in the day, our mutual pal Jessica Champion (of the

now-dead Arcade Distro) brought Ben into the fold for an early issue of TFH, in 2003. So now, back again, to talk about himself and his comic, Ben Snakepit.

Riding Against The Wind: Talking with Joe Biel

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 5:30am 0 Comments

Joe Biel is a writer, filmmaker and zinester who founded Microcosm Publishing. I sat down with him to talk about his new movie (Aftermass), his old movies (100 Dollars and a T-Shirt), and so much more. Read it all or not at all.

A Conversation with P.nitas*

P.nitas* is a gutsy feminist artist from Barcelona. Her drawings and paintings are funny and a little off. I interviewed her for Twenty-Four Hours. This is in both English and Spanish. Enjoy!

Hey! So, when we accepted your generous offer of friendship, the message you sent with it vanished forever. And we wanna know what it said! You've got some realllly cool stuff posted here, and we'd happily send some of our rags your way if you are interested. But more importantly, what did you wanna know? Apologies for not responding sooner, I was just embarrassed that I'd already managed to delete your communiqué.

Yikes! It can get confusing once the social media starts adding up. Shoot, the mailman cannot even remember my right address! It's A then one then two then three.

Ciao Josh,

It's great to hear from you. I just read your interview with Joe Biel. Good stuff.

Of course I'd like to read your memoir. Ideally, though, I'd like to read it on paper. Is that possible? Otherwise you can just send me a Word file.

Looking forward to it!
