"she's so very..." zine

"She's so very... I don't care"

i've been working on "she's so very..." since 2000, but didn't publish an issue until the summer of 2002. i recently printed up my 11th issue and am working on number 12 and other projects. i've also published one mini zine titled "be bubbly in public!"

"she's so very..." is a perzine, i write about all aspects of my life, including but not limited to: love, loss, obsessions, mental health, abortion, rape, sexuality, pornography, being boy crazy, pop culture - especially music and television shows and have started branching out into interviews as well.

i live in bloomington, indiana and i work at a community mental health center with adults who are chronically and seriously mentally ill; i help them manage all aspects of their lives, depending on their specific needs. i was the singer for JERK ALERT! but have no musical projects on the horizon at this time, although i hope that a drum set will be in my future! i also recently purchased some turntables and will finally be able to DJ freely around bloomington.

issue 12 was released on 3/24/2009!

issue number twelve.
$1.00 ppd by mail
$1.35 by paypal
1.8 ounces
34 half sized pages.
text and photographs.
photograph on cover found in an antique shop outside of Athens, Georgia.
summer/fall/winter (june - december) 2008.

Every issue of "she's so very..." deals with my life and often follows along in a diary like format. I continue in issue 12 with recurrent themes of sexuality, relationships, pregnancy fear and body image. I also write about the release of an LP, the death of JERK ALERT and our last tour; trying new things and planning for the future; building strong friendships and letting go of crappy friends; and of course my many celebrity and pop culture obsessions, including my discovery of Twilight, seeing the Toadies and Margaret Cho in the same weekend. I've also included an interview I did with Le Tigre back in 2000!

pay via paypal for $1.35

Hello! Do you like trades? I would like to trade with you if you are interested. There is a list of the zines I have available on my blog. If any of them strike you as interesting, let me know and we can do a trade.

Hello friend of Sticky. If you have made a zine recently, are still reprinting old copies of a zine, have old copies lying around or are thinking of making zine, we want you to stock it with us! If you haven't stocked with us before, here's how you do it. Visit our website (www.stickyinstitute.com) and download a stockists form. Fill it out and send it with up to ten copies of your zine to Sticky, P.O. Box 310, Flinders Lane, VIC 8009. We have them on the shelves for 6 months at which time, if they've sold out we'll pay you and if they haven't totally sold out we'll pay you for the copies you have sold and send the remaining copies back to you or donate them to the Exchange Box. To those of you have stocked with us previously, keep sending us your zines! Zine culture is alive and kicking in Australia and Sticky is an ardent defender of zine culture!
Love from Sticky!
