I guess be honest but diplomatic - say it's not what you were expecting from the online description and you're not that keen on it at the moment, that you expected more content (or whatever it is you thought you were getting).
Hello. Anyone want to trade with me? My zine is 20 A5 pages about crafty things I like to do and includes a crafty project. It is my first zine. I will accept anything in return, doesnt even have to be your zine!

Well, I'd day you should either potter about getting hold of more zines to see if the description was totally out of character, or if maybe you just have different expectations. That or just tell the zinester that you didn't get what you expected ...

I have received one or two zines where I have felt the same as you do. I would think the author should be mature enough to expect constructive criticism, but I am not sure I could happily do so without feeling like a bit of a bitch.
