Hi. My name is Katie, and I make zines. I write one called aubade. It is the most important thing I do in my spare time. I also write a weird sort of angry philosophical zine called we are not machines! I just moved to Portland in August 2008 from my home state of Virginia. I love reading zines a lot, and I write about it sometimes on the web.
Here, actually. I'm also a fan of letter writing, book reading, and scone making, among other things.
I just started a new project called What I Learned Today, which is a biweekly zine in which I write down one thing I learn each day and then put it together in a little zine. Contact me for monthly subscriptions ($1 per month) or more info.
If you are interested in getting a copy of aubade, or any of the other projects I do, or if you'd just like to say hi or be penpals, write me a letter! aubadezine AT gmail DOT com.

i love your zine. i recently got a copy of aubade #4. would like to send my zines for trade. TQ...
Hmm so I am trying to get a hold of your zines. I have read 2,3,4 I think? Where can I find others? Parcel press only has 4 and Mae seems to have ran out of your zine.
I go to PCC- Cascade and after class on my way to the bus I stopped at the North Portland Library. They had two little magazine holder type things with a paper describing that it was a "Zine Exchange Program"... People leave a copy of a zine and then take one home to keep or return. You dont need a library card or anything. I thought that was a really cool idea. Have you seen this? I went to the Central Library in downtown and they didn't have the Zine Exchange box.
8 months? Are you glad you moved here?
I don't think I will ever regret moving here.
"where i go, little stories about my favorite places" is that at the library? The cover and name look familiar...
