Hi Zinesters!
My name's Dawn. I am a former NYC public high school ESL teacher who taught zine-making to my students. Now, I'm in library school studying to become a community college/academic librarian, hopefully.
Anyway, I am currently in an information literacy pedagogy course, and doing a research process project with the following research question:
"How do high school teachers create effective zine projects to help students of all learning abilities…

I got your zine in the mail last night. It was awesome! I especially liked the picture of the porch door and the one of the dishes in the cupboard. Also, the flying panda and cat stamp were very cute. I am going to mail my zine with some goodies today, so maybe you should get it by Saturday? Have a nice day when you get this. i also saw your post in the disabled zinesters group and that sounds really interesting! that paper is probably finished but i'd love to chat more with you about using zines as a literacy building tool - i focused a lot on non-institutional forms of writing (like zines!) as literacy tools in my graduate studies! msg/email me for my addy!
