ive generally had pretty good results with photos etc, as long as theres good contrast in your flats (original) then you'll be fine. im sure you could ask them to just print one copy and then you/they can adjust it if need be.
as far as i know you can get any size A3 or smaller on loads of different paper, you can get black and white and then every other colour is extra, i think ive noticed most people use the recycled paper as its the cheapest and has a pretty nice tex...
