Zine stuff in Belfast?

Hi friends!I'm actually Canadian, but I'm visiting my fam in Belfast/Newtownards for two weeks and was wondering if any of you could point me towards zine activity in Belfast (or, honestly, any of Northern Ireland). I wanna meet some rad zinesters and do trades, maybe visit a zine library...something! Anything! HALP.See More

A jack-of-some-trades, I was raised in the prairies and now live in Toronto. I make illustration-heavy zines that mostly chronicle the embarrassing, painful, and hopefully slightly humourous moments my relationships are comprised of. Currently, I'm working on a serial called Little Gardens for Invalids.

I like to read zines that involve: righteous (or unrighteous) fury, comics, veganism, and insanely personal information.

And in general, I like comics, (sock) monkey socks, vegan cooking and baking, anything made out of felt, movies with lots of props and nice mise-en-scene, knitting very warm garments, and tea at any time of the day.

The sheridan Self Publishers are putting on a two day zine fair spectacular at Sheridan College in Oakville, On, on February 12 and 13, from 12-5pm. and we would like to invite you to attend as a vendor! it is called Gettazine 2009!

Tables are 3'x3' and are FREE! All you have to do is give a zine or cash donation to the Sheridan Zine Library! Transportation is easy from Toronto. If you don't have a car you can take the Go Train and from the Go Station there is a 60 cent bus that will take you directly to the college!

The school is located on 1430 Trafalgar Road, if you sign up to be a vendor I will contact you with more detailed travel information.

Please let me know as soon as possible (via EMAIL: sheridanzinelibrary@gmail.com) if you plan on attending the fair. You can attend both days or just one! There will be live music all day, and the fair is conviniently located next to the college pub, food vendors, washrooms and an ATM. Last year was the first annual Gettazine and it was a great success! This year we are advertising twice as hard, and the fair is going to be twice as long, therefore it will be a billion times as awesome!

If you have any zine friends who you think might be interested in attending please pass this email on to them, and check out http://gettazine.blogspot.com for latest news and information.

Thanks and I hope to hear from you soon!

Sincerely Jen Pilles and the Sheridan College Zine Team
