THE ALCHEMIST'S CLOSET is a small distro of carefully chosen queer, trans, feminist, punk, anarchist and occult zines. AC specializes in zines not carried by any other distro. Updated regularly. AC also features weblinks to zines and online magazines of interest, including lesser known zines and zines local to Maine. Free shipping on all zine orders within the continental US.
alchemical postmodern theorist zine
APMT 1.1: This first issue of APMT is a raw, urban-feel cut n' paste collage zine of art, poetry, and articles documenting the process of gay assimilation into consumer culture and calling for an anticapitalist queer movement based on no-identity politics and an alliance of bi/pansexual and trans folk. Includes interview with FTM transsexual porn star Buck Angel, interview with a SF Gay Shame!er and "Stubble," a transwoman's drag king photojournal by writer and activist Tobi Hill-Meyer of www.nodesignation.com. $2
APMT 1.1 is available from The Alchemists' Closetfor $2.00 or selected trades.
APMT 1.2: This issue explores the family in all of its brilliant permutations. Is family defined by one man, and one women, and kids? By two married people of any gender? I am seeking to move beyond the gay marriage debate, and into the territory of chosen, post-nuclear, extended and queer families that break boundaries and practice radical new forms of support and encouragement. At the root of the revolution are groups of people who depend on each other, and we are imagining and re-imagining family all the time. $3
Call for submissions:APMT 1.3: Queer Theory, radical mental health & the queer community
w/ featured artist risk hazencamp - Deadline December 31, 2011.
I also published poetry zines, Love Never and Open Secret, about anti-capitalism and sex I like to have.
