I loved Yorkshire, it was so beautiful! My grandfather grew up there and I finally got to see the places he'd told me about when I was a little girl. Sylvia was a coincidence - it just happened to be nearby.

Ooh, I live in Yorkshire, but haven't been to Sylvia Plath's grave. We have lots of steep hills!

psssst, Amber, Vanessa's zines are fantastic. I am a HUGE "I Am A Camera" fan. One of my all time favorite zines for sure. I'll have to order this one too!

Gah! Now that I've looked at your profile, all of your zines look fantastic. Any chance you wanna trade for a few? My descriptions are all here: www.helloamber.etsy.com, though I'll actually be finished two new issues of Culture Slut this week.

Are you up for trades? I'm going to be finished the latest issue of Culture Slut in the next few days and I'd really love to check out yours. Oddly enough, I just finally watched that Gwyneth Paltrow movie about Sylvia Plath a few nights ago.

I am a Camera, among other things

I've been making zines since 1996. I've made many many of them since then, but currently I make I am a Camera and Disposable Camera.
I am a Camera comes out yearly and is a storybook about my ideas and experiences. It varies, depending on what's been happening to me.
Disposable Camera is written in one night, on a typewriter, to balance the obsessive hours of work I spend making the other one!
Write to me if you're interested in either of these zines and doing a trade, or to say hello, ask a question. Why not?

New Zine - June Graveyard

Article about me, zine fair, tea and baklava...

Here's a nice interview with me. It's also about the MCA zine fair which is coming up next weekend. Last year it was so busy that I momentarily lost a shoe when trying to push through the crowds. This year I will dress more sturdily.

All the zines I've ever made...

I know that I've made 121 because I photocopied them all again for the exhibition "Avoiding Myth and Message: Australian Artists and the Literary World", which is currently on at the MCA, Sydney.
If you do go along, do write me a postcard - there is a shiny red postbox and a stack of blank cards for this purpose. Keep the numbers of messages from primary school kids, and teenagers quoting the Mighty Boosh down, write to me!
The exhibition's on til the 12th of July.

Disposable Camera sounds wonderful, as does June Graveyard! Would you be interested in a trade? I'd love to get my hands on one of them, or both!

Hey Vanessa,
Sorry for the late reply. I couldn't find my log-in details for the longest time!
I didn't get much of a chance to wander at TINA either. It was the combined effort of bad weather + lack of sleep + sugar overdose.
But yes, I would most definitely love to trade. I'm just going to get more copies of Feels Like Fridat #12 tonight. :)

Hello!
Yes it did, it was such a lovely suprise! I carried it around for a bit to show people and re-read on bus rides.
I hope your stomp around the UK was excellent! Any new musical finds?
