Combination of cut and paste and print out, my handwriting is of variable quality so I can't really trust that. I get friends to draw pictures.

My latest, 'A Child's Garden of Hearses' - it was a book of poems and I wanted a catchy title that got a feel of the poems within (ie, comic). So I settled on a pun on RS Stevenson's famous book of children's poems. (S J Perelman had already written…

That being said... Often I don't charge for my own zines since they're a hobby. The last one I did, though, I spent more money than usual getting the formatting and colour cover right and decided to give it a charge. I just made it a simple figure,…

The three Ps! I reckon charge for printing, postage... and profit. Not sure why other people have hang ups about that, but I don't know how much this would worry potential zine readers anyway. It's not as if, when I buy zines, I actually do a mental…

Actually, Book of Zines (and affiliated website) is Chip Rowe, not Heath Row. Dan 10things said:Heath Rowe's website (and book, his Book of Zines is mandatory for all zinesters to own) has a lot of good zine history info and links, check out this p…

Dan 10things said:Fred is anti-computers (anti-tech too?), he also doesn't use email, the web, tv or I think phones. He's old school DIY, he's published The Match by himself since 1969, it's mimeographed and he sometimes powers the printing by solar…

A (little bit/just enough/too much) about me

I am a winter person. I live in Thornbury, which is the poor man's Northcote. My flat is too hot in summer and not cold enough in winter. There is a brown dog down the road who I am gradually trying to win over with pats, and a level train crossing just outside that lulls me to sleep at night with its loud banging as the train crashes past. I make zines, casually, often including stuff from my blog. Mostly they're poetry, but not always.

My blog is - http://willtypeforfood.blogspot.com. Or email me at timhtrain - at - yahoo.com.au
