PUNK - My all new submissions zine!

Hi guys,Long time no see. I apologise for that, for those who don't know I am a struggling filmmaker which means I am trying to get as much done in as little time as possible and that, unfortunately, takes my time away from other things. Not that I'd change it for the world :)Anyway, enough chitchat. Let's get down to the nitty gritty.I was watching this Don Letts documentary called PUNK ATTITUDE (everyone should watch this) and I thought how much the world needs punk now, so why not make a…See More

A Little About Me

I wrote my first zine called Army of Her when I was 17, it was mainly articles that I cut from magazines that were centred on women and how there are some great women out there doing amazing work, that was it pretty much. However, I lost interest because none of my friends were interested. A couple of months back I found out about a zine library near where I live - I spent a few hours there, but will go back to try a photocopy some of the better zines to distribute myself. I think the best zine that I read was perzine, and it's apparently quite a well known one - About My Disappearance by David Roche (?), it really put into perspective what zines can do and that the writing can also be exceptional. After this discovery, I decided to go back to zine-making and made a mini-zine also called Army of Her, but this time it was a perzine mini-zine. I am also starting another series, called Grrrl Power, which will be about female empowerment and how we can empower each other. Hopefully, I will meet a few more people from the zine scene here and at the London Zine Symposium! Hope I didn't bore you :) Thanks

P.S. Let's be friends :)

Hi guys,

Long time no see. I apologise for that, for those who don't know I am a struggling filmmaker which means I am trying to get as much done in as little time as possible and that, unfortunately, takes my time away from other things. Not that I'd change it for the world :)

IDGAS!

Posted on May 11, 2010 at 9:30am 0 Comments

So, I told Yvonne that I would write a zine completely in Portuguese and I did!
It's called IDGAS - ID, the Freudian term for the crazy, wild side of you and GAS because it's fuel. A mini-zine to fuel your wild side! I think this is a really good tagline!

But really, the title didn't even arise like that. IDGAS stands for I Don't Give A Shit.

Anyone who is interested in the zine, get in touch!
I can always make a translation :)

Cheerio,
Tania

Hello there, welcome back. Maybe I'll make it to the next event, who knows. Incidentally I popped along to a zine library in Bristol a couple of months back and saw your mini-zines on the shelf. Would you like a copy of the latest Triumph?

A-ha! Guess what I received in the post today?! Thank you, thank you for both the notebook and the mini zines, they're all fab. I will definately make the effort to print more Triumphs sooner rather than later so I can start sending them out again.

Thats great news about the notebook, thank you very much. I'm glad you like Triumph. I'm going to be making up more copies of previous issues soon and will mail you the others when I do. Its interesting to see how its evolved over time.

I can't believe its the end of the weekend already, I hope you had a good one!

Take care and I look forward to receiving your mail.

I have recently read the first issue of "About My Disappearance." I too thought it was a phenomenal zine. Just wanted to share that we had some zines we read in common. Nice to meet you! :)
