Sunday Fatigue is a perzine I started putting together on Sundays when I had spare time and no enthusiasm for what I thought were 'productive' activities. These days I view zine making as a really constructive and creative way of putting things I previously thought were pointless or pathetic (actually things that keep me happy/sane) onto paper, and sharing them. I was always taught as I was growing up not to take this kind of creativity seriously and that if it doesn't help you make money in some way, what's the point in spending all that time on it?

When I made the first issue, I was really insecure about other peoples opinions of it and only gave it to a few friends. But, finding really useful facts or personal experiences in zines opened me up to the qualities of shared knowledge with eachother...and in particular 'strangers'. If the friends in my circles don't have these discussions, I can at least get other people thinking about them/hopefully relating to them.

I seem to have had more time/energy for it when I've been depressed (not really wanting to do anything else, actually) and although it doesn't focus only on this, some of the content is mental health based.

Other topics it tends towards are:
Feminism
Environmentalism
Safe Spaces
Activism
Friends
Relationships
Work
Dreams
Poetry

I can't draw so on occasion I try to get my friends to draw for me but I favour the cutting and pasting method.

Other things about me:

I found my first typewriter on the street outside my flat. It's oversized, bulky and kind of 80's looking but still works really well.
I used to stay up late most nights making different mix tapes back in the days when I wouldn't give up on cassette players.
My favourite thing to do is go to the cinema on my own in the afternoon when it's quiet. And take a flask of tea.
I love making vegan banana cake for my flatmates. Although sometimes it comes out more like pudding.

Are you a queer zinester (broadly defined, of course)? Do you write about your genderfucking, transitioning, same-and-other-gender lovin' experiences, or about queer and LBGTQ communities and cultures? If so, let's start talking about it.
