Sid Clark replied to Kari Tervo's discussion Scam Distro: Should I Out It Here?I'm a 59-year-old, ex-software engineer with one child, 31. I live in WV. The people here tend to be decent and gracious and I love the mountains.
I'm disgusted by the modern world. It wants to turn everybody into a tool and it doesn't care how much it mangles people in the process.
You could dismiss my opinions as just a typical old-man grousing about how "the world's goin' to hell in a handbasket". You could also dismiss me as just suffering from an acute case of sour grapes since most of my life has been marked by failure. Or you could just say I'm a boring old fart.
I think the subliminal pseudo-religion of positivity nowadays is creepy and enslaving. I feel the negativity in my pamphlet is liberatory. I sell my pamphlet as being a motherlode of negativity. It's a modern version of the Bible's writing on the wall that summed up the great pharaoh's empire and found it wanting.
My latest writing, the appendix to my pamphlet, "Thus Spake Cum-fuck-see-us", is a collection of short sayings, or assertions, about the modern world. People who need endless blocky paragraphs to express themselves are more of a hindrance than a help. People should have their own short, pithy sayings to help them through life. Why sit passively and let Wal-Mart cram, "save money, live better", down your throat??
The modern, man-made world is an empire of deadness. Mankind's so-called lust for life has turned sick and involuted.
