ME ME ME

Hi, I'm Jonathan and I have been running or co-running Satan Macnuggit Popular Arts since 1996. Over the intervening years it has functioned as a punk label, a catch-all distro, a video road show, and a DVD/zine imprint which is where it is parked today.

Lately I have been disorientingly employed - in the arts no less - but I am presently laid off and waiting for the bigger axe to fall courtesy of the pig Harper, so I'm 'back to normal' and working on lots of projects. Lately I've been doing more stuff for myself than for others - a big T-shirt quilt, a sprawling family photo album, a severe re-organizing of my storage space - but I've completed design and gunning to print my first zine of the year, issue seven of my Stupid Journey series - titled "The Selkirk Astrologer", it is a collage of incredible items I found put out for the taking in this guy's yard.

I keep saying I'm going to get back into making music, lately I've been taking such concrete steps as tortuously upgrading my sampler and struggling to regain the octave of my vocal range that marijuana and age have stolen from me. And while the movie-making has slowed down in recent years due to distraction and conceptual elephantitis (I made a feature, "Grilled Cheese Sandwich" - exhausting), there ARE a couple presently in the pipe - a collaboration for the upcoming "Sound Vision" commission, a fucking enormous collage of like three hundred Canadian features from the 70s and 80s, and maybe a silhouette animation whenever LIFT gets its suites up and running again...

Almost everything I've ever done can be seen, heard or bought at www.satanmacnuggit.com.

Hello friend of Sticky. If you have made a zine recently, are still reprinting old copies of a zine, have old copies lying around or are thinking of making zine, we want you to stock it with us! If you haven't stocked with us before, here's how you do it. Visit our website (www.stickyinstitute.com) and download a stockists form. Fill it out and send it with up to ten copies of your zine to Sticky, P.O. Box 310, Flinders Lane, VIC 8009. We have them on the shelves for 6 months at which time, if they've sold out we'll pay you and if they haven't totally sold out we'll pay you for the copies you have sold and send the remaining copies back to you or donate them to the Exchange Box. To those of you have stocked with us previously, keep sending us your zines! Zine culture is alive and kicking in Australia and Sticky is an ardent defender of zine culture!
Love from Sticky!
