Hello :)

I'm Saara Fae, a 22 year old, music obsessed, history graduate from Wales, UK.

I'm pretty much a zine noob. I write a perzine called Losing Our Minds. I'm still quite nervous about sharing my zine with the world, but I'm feeling braver! My PO Box is now set up and I'm free to trade or receive mail! Send me a message if you'd like the address :)

Losing Our Minds #1 - Aug 2009 [1/4 sized, 24 pages, text heavy]
A reflection on my three years at University. It features writing about not finding good friends, not being a typical student (I don't drink alcohol or like clubbing), frustration in not finding a job after Uni, anxiety & panic attacks, & also the reasons why Uni was a good experience for me.

Losing Our Minds #2 - Sep 2009 [1/4 sized, 32 pages, text heavy]
A lot of writing about why I feel different to most people or alienated (originally a woe-is-me type issue but I tried to put a positive spin everything). It includes my thoughts on alcohol, smoking and drugs; whether a religious lifestyle is the only alternative to drinking/clubbing; on hating what girls are 'supposed to' like; and my disillusionment with the 'alt. (music) scene'. There is also a list of things that make me happy to balance out the negative!

Your picture to the 'making my zine and writing letters' reminds me loads of a tiny (A7?) zine I did once about gifts/giving/love. Probably my first proper zine, actually.

Working on my next (music) zine...

So, the last few days I've been working on ideas for my next zine... I was going to do another issue of Losing Our Minds all about feeling isolated and different to most people, but I think I might wait and see how my first perzine goes before making another one.
