Rod Buckle's Page

I am self taught but have painted/studied with Alvaro Castagnet "Painting with Passion" and Angus McDonald finalist of BBC Watercolour Challenge. I live and paint around Filey on the coast. I work mainly in either water colour or pen and ink with wash. My work is sold in galleries and on line. I only sell originals and will not produce prints as I firmly believe that anyone purchasing one of my paintings should know that it is unique and no other exists.I begin paintings Plein Aire where posssible and complete details in the studio. I feel that this gives them an immediancy and vibrancy not achieved by painting just from photographs. I have exhibited on many occasions including the Ferrensby Gallery in Hull. My work appears on websites both in the UK and America. I sell through outlets to visitors to this beautiful part of Britain. I love painting around this coast as it is a challenge to find an original composition I also paint in the Lake District and the Peak District
