Adventures in Noobland

I thought I saw someone ask in this group to mention what ways they had foibled, but now I can't find it. First foible I can mention. But actual zining foibles... Maybe that's too strong a word, too specific. Adventures are better. So I just changed the title from Noob Foibles to Adventures in Noobland.I started as part of a local writing group, and we put together a zine called Repeat Offenders. Those of us who showed up for the meeting got to paste up two pages apiece of our work. It's a good…See More

Places to sell zines?

I'm familiar with Reading Frenzy. What other places in the Portland area can you sell zines on consignment, or straight out?

Hi, everyone!

I joined the zine scene last year, when a writing group I was in put together the zine Repeat Offenders and then I attended the Portland Zine Symposium for the first time. Yeah, I'm an Oregon girl, a transplant from California whose been in the state a long time--almost 30 years now. I did the first zine of my own in spring of '09, a collection of stories fictional and autobiographical, called A Character Sandwich. I've written an article about zining for a local newsletter and am working on more articles for the Internet. I just got back from my second Zine Symposium, at which I had half a table for Friday and Sunday (Saturday was sold out). I'm working on my next zine, which I plan to have done in time for the next symposium. I also do editing as Robin Layne Enterprises, LLC.
If you try to chat with me, I probably won't be available because chat does a weird thing on my computer and I forgot how to get out of it.
My activity update says my photo album is called A Character Sandwich. That's not true now; that's just the name of the first picture. The album is now called "Zines I made or helped make."
Anyway--great to be here!
