Are you a queer zinester (broadly defined, of course)? Do you write about your genderfucking, transitioning, same-and-other-gender lovin' experiences, or about queer and LBGTQ communities and cultures? If so, let's start talking about it.

All About QZAP

QZAP's Mission Statement
"The mission of the Queer Zine Archive Project (QZAP) is to establish a "living history" archive of past and present queer zines and to encourage current and emerging zine publishers to continue to create. In curating such a unique aspect of culture, we value a collectivist approach that respects the diversity of experiences that fall under the heading "queer."

The primary function of QZAP is to provide a free on-line searchable database of the collection with links allowing users to download electronic copies of zines. By providing access to the historical canon of queer zines we hope to make them more accessible to diverse communities and reach wider audiences."

QZAP's Donation/Collection Policy
Our focus is on queer zines and mini comics. To us a queer zine is either:
a) about queer subject matter (ie. LGBTQ, sexuality, gender, HIV/AIDS, STIs and sexual health, etc.)
b) by someone who identifies as queer, even if the zine is not about queer subjects. This could include perzines, DIY or how-to zines, fanzines, or pretty much anything made by queer folks.

To Donate zines to QZAP
All donations large and small can be sent to:
QZAP
2935 N. Fratney St.
Milwaukee, WI 53212
USA

Because of space limitations, if a donated zine *DOES NOT* fit within our collection scope, every effort will be made to send it to an appropriate zine library.

I just found y'all's website today and I am thrilled! Someone on We Make Zines told me that y'all had a page, and I just found it! Awesome! I sent a friend request so we can (hopefully) be WMZ friends.

I found the Tough Sissy Girl image, part of the Emma Center single page flyer collection and would LOVE to use it in the zine I am doing about my queer identity. Can I do that? Is there some sort of official permission process? I looked a bit on your site (not too much, I admit) and didn't find anything. I would for sure say I found it on the QZAP site and that it's from the Emma Center. I don't want to pretend that I made the image, just want to proclaim that I am a Tough Sissy Girl.
