QZAP's Mission Statement"The mission of the
Queer Zine Archive Project (QZAP) is to establish a "living history" archive of past and present queer zines and to encourage current and emerging zine publishers to continue to create. In curating such a unique aspect of culture, we value a collectivist approach that respects the diversity of experiences that fall under the heading "queer."
The primary function of
QZAP is to provide a free on-line searchable database of the collection with links allowing users to download electronic copies of zines. By providing access to the historical canon of queer zines we hope to make them more accessible to diverse communities and reach wider audiences."
QZAP's Donation/Collection PolicyOur focus is on queer zines and mini comics. To us a queer zine is either:
a) about queer subject matter (ie. LGBTQ, sexuality, gender, HIV/AIDS, STIs and sexual health, etc.)
b) by someone who identifies as queer, even if the zine is not about queer subjects. This could include perzines, DIY or how-to zines, fanzines, or pretty much anything made by queer folks.
To Donate zines to QZAPAll donations large and small can be sent to:

Because of space limitations, if a donated zine
*DOES NOT* fit within our collection scope, every effort will be made to send it to an appropriate zine library.
