Milo Who?!?!

Personal Info
Let's see... I am a nerdy zinester bread baker urban gardner punk rock poly bi switchy witchy outgoing home body... or something like that.

I've been making zines since about 1992. In HS I worked on one called Nikita's Boot with a friend. I think there were a total of 4 issues, none of which I have in my possession any more.

I really got started in the zine world in 1999. I did 10 issues of Mutate Zine from 1999-2006. I've been taking a break from that, and have been producing Gendercide since 2006. I've recently put out Gendercide #5 (skipping merrily over #4, which is still in process.) I've also done a number of one-off minizines including The Black Briefcase and Crush.

In 2003 my partner-in-crime and I co-founded QZAP, the Queer Zine Archive Project. We've been scanning and making available the vast history of queer zines dating from the 1970s-present. We're always accepting zine donations, and hope to soon have a zine library space to physically share these amazing documents. Currently there are about 200 queer zines on QZAP, and we probably have a total of upwards of 800. I spend the majority of my time working on QZAP these days.

In addition to zines, I bake bread, cook, garden, sometimes make super8 films, ride my bike, read YA fiction, listen to a variety of musics and dance around in my underwear.

My (incomplete) zineogrophy:
1993 - Nikita's Boot #1-4?
1999-2006 - Mutate Zine #1-10 (queer punk/pop culture zine)
2004? - Crush minizine (about crushes)
2006 - Soy Boi - Queer Adventures in My Vegetarian Kitchen (cookzine)
2006 - The Black Briefcase minizine (about spies)
2006-present - Gendercide #1-5
2008 - Peulah Shaveh Chayim (a zine about radical Queer Judaism)

I've got several other zines that I'm working on at the moment, but they're ongoing projects right now.

Hey Milo! I'd like to submit my latest zines to QZAP - where should I mail 'em to? And how can I get my hands on QZAP's meta zines?

Not a problem. I just really like a little mixture in my zines. My attention span doesnt last long enough for one thing. Even if there is a base subject for the zine but like different entires and thoughts or just multiple people working on it.. i seem to make it through easier..which is sad that im to add for zines half the time. ha
