The Usual
Zines have been a part of my life off and on since 1995. I read a ton of zine anthologies and how-to books then while I was working in a library. I immediately connected to zines as an art form and loved the freedom of expression aspect. Biographical, how-to, and travel writing are my favorite reading materials and many zines fit those slots. Lately, I have been buying zines more often and working on a zine of my own (at long last).
Well, I have actually made one, slim, quarter-sized how-to zine about creating and trading ATCs (artist trading cards) already. It's cute and tiny. As you can tell, when it comes to making zines, I am really just a newbie. My heart is in the right place, though. Spreading the word on zines and zine-making is a favorite pastime for me, and I hope I will be putting out my first perzine (to be entitled "Guess You Had To Be There" ) before the end of this year (or, ha ha, in the spring of next year).
