The Murky Realm

"The Murky Realm," a biographical sketch of a tragic union with some creative engineering...

My parents never should have gotten married. But even though my father was gay and my mother was chemically imbalanced, this was the 60s, when single men in their forties did not identify as queer and people with personality disorders were rarely diagnosed, much less treated. And marriage was inexorable. The tragedy, of course, is that five children came out of this…

awesome! i am really excited you want to trade. i will send you my main new zine and some other stuff. but i do have my other new zine done soon. it will be pocket sized or 1/4 sized on mental health. all in pictures no words. when i make an announcement that when that is done ( it will have more pages and is super cut-n paste (as is all my mediums) i'd love to maybe do another trade or something. or become pen pals and send random mix tapes to each other not knowing at all what the other person even likes, which is a super interesting idea. well to me. but i am putting together a list of folks that want to tape trade/zine trade/ handmade/art trade all mixed together. so let me know if you would be into that? its open to anyone who loves getting mail and knowS how fun it is to make a special one of a kind package or tape and share it with another and it only costs us postage! well sorry for the monolog. i do them from time to time. stay in touch if ya wanna...brian.

Hey Kelly! Thanks so much for the review of Shards! I'm so glad you get a kick out of it. As someone who grew up around entertainment, you are the person to get that "not taking something seriously" involves a lot of work, so I'm glad you "get" Shards. I'm baking up a series for more serious stuff and reviews, and can't wait to share my thoughts on your candy-selling story. Appreciatively, Kari

Hi Kelly, it's Kari of Shards of Glass In Your Eye! I don't know if I'm on your trade list, but would love to be. Your essays are interesting and engaging--I really enjoyed that batch of Piltdownlad you sent. I'll send you the latest Shards (#9) in return!

P.S. I hope you got that packet of Shards I finally sent, I think in March. I wanted to return the favor when you originally sent your trades last summer, but I was injured at that time.
