The Sketching Process

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 2:00pm 0 Comments

I thought it would be nice to show you how my sketches and doodles are born. At the minute I’m catching up with writing letters to people and most include a little drawing. I used to include sketches in letters to fill the void as writing isn’t my strong point so I never wrote much. Now with practice I’m getting more confident with writing but the drawings still remain. Its also these sketches which make up my zone of lunch time doodles. Just drop…

The League of Evilness

Posted on January 3, 2011 at 2:29pm 0 Comments

In addition to my zine Triumph I'm wanting to put together a comic but I'm not too confident in doing so having not done one before. Having been inspired and encouraged by a couple of very creative artists last year, I'm going to set myself a challenge for 2011 and put together a comic about a group of evil do-gooders. The only trouble is though, like any New Year's resolutions they get harder to keep as the year progresses so I'm setting up a League of Evilness newsletter which I will…

My Notebook Project

Posted on April 24, 2010 at 2:00pm 2 Comments

I’ve been wanting to try out an idea thats been brewing in my head for a while now. It involves notebooks, lots of notebooks and hopefully many creative individuals. I'm not sure how I'm going to present the results but I like the idea of making them into a zine.

I’m a massive notebook fan and I’ve even made some pretty interesting books in the past myself too. Recently I’ve made a pile of matchbook notebooks and its these that I would like to send out to people who…

Mini Zine - A Moment In Time

Posted on November 29, 2009 at 8:38am 2 Comments

Inspired by an old photographic project of mine (read about it here) I put together a mini zine about eight individuals sharing a single moment in time - 12.11pm to be exact. Its printed on a single sheet of A4 which is then folded up to fit in the palm of your hand. It also opens up to reveal a puzzle regarding the eighth individual. I plan to place a couple in time related library books during one of my visits… Continue

Hi Jez, sorry for the incredible delay in getting back to you about the London Zine Symposium. Yep, I did go. Let me tell you, it doesn't help seeing all these amazing zines and not have any money to buy them, but I guess there is always next year! It was busy too, I never thought that many people would be into zines and there were people all the way from the US and Brazil. It was definitely a nice experience.

Great news for me then! I really really liked Triumph, I wish I could do a zine like that.

Ditto, I spent my weekend doing what i love most in the whole entire world - filming. I can't wait for the London Zine Symposium to come around cause I'm going to be documenting it in film!

Posted notebook today ^^

got your letter today. I love the notebook paper with the owls. It's going to be hard for me to let go when I'm done with it. I really like TRIUMPH, I'm interested in reading the previous issues - it's simple, funny and smart. utter brilliance. I'll be mailing you my zines tomorrow.
