Zines on Kindle

Hola,I haven't posted here much; I'm a lazy lazy man. I've been putting out the zine The Inner Swine since 1995. (www.innerswine.com)1995. Damn, I'm an old man, too.Wanted to mention that I just put the latest issue up as an Amazon Kindle title. 99 cents. I figure I'll do this for all future issues. I set it up for unlimited lending as well.Anyone else have any experience putting a zine out on Kindle? Any advice? Here's the link if…See More

For some reason lost to the mists of time, when I get zines in my PO Box I post them. Like most things in my life, I don't really know why I do this. Let's begin!BLOG LOVE OMEGA GLEE (wredfright.blogspot.com): A printed version of Wred's ongoing online book. Just BAM! right into it, no cover letter, no intro, nothin'.The Ken Chronicles #16 ($2, Ken Bausert, 2140 Erma Dr., East Meadow, NY 11554-1120; passscribe@aol.com; thekenbausertchronicles.blogspot.com) As per as perzines get: Music, a new…See More

I haven't been getting to my PO Box as often as I'd like, due to crippling laziness, The Drink, and the fact that it's been hot as frick out here in Hoboken. But mainly the laziness.I did finally get out there, and found the following delights:The Ken Chronicles #15 ($2, Ken Bausert, 2140 Erma Dr, East Meadow, NY 11554-1120; pssscribe@aol.com; thekenbausertcrhonicles.blogspot.com). I can't believe Ken's on issue 15 - time flies. if you enjoy perzines that give you a glimpse into someone's…See More

"I use Open Office to write (www.openoffice.org) and Scribus for layout (www.scribus.net). Both free, both work on Mac/Linux/Windows. both rock. Scribus can take a few days to get used to. Better than spending $$$ on huge bloated programs when you…"

Brutarian Wants Zines

Y'all,Just heard from Dominick Salemi who publishes Brutarian Magazine that he's starting up a print-zine distro. Dom's an old supporter of zines and he's been putting out Brutarian for thousands of years. I'm sending him 20 issues of The Inner Swine's next issue on 50/50 consignment, but I suspect Dom's easy to negotiate terms with if that doesn't suit you.I've never distroed with Dom before, but he has bought stories from me and pays me for a regular column, and he always pays. Sometimes he's…See More

Hola Zine Peeps,I don't post anywhere very much any more; I used to post to alt.zines constantly, but I've sort of fallen from the habit. This is because I am old and lame. And also busier than I ever was before, although I seem to be getting less done, which is the worst part about growing up: The hamster wheel, she spins, but you're not *going* anywhere.Anyways, as I prepare for the next issue of The INner swine, I headed to the ole' PO Box to see what was there. I got check for some writing…See More

Well, I'm still alive, keep going to my PO Box regularly, and keep posting these reports. I must be on some cool government lists by now, right? This week, we found the following things in our PO Box:- Worst Future Ever! #2 ($1/trade, JD, POB 340971, Columbus OH 43234; worstfutureever.blogspot.com) The theme of issue #2 is the go-go 1990s, with a review of films, TV shows, books, and cultural movements, all packed into 15 digest-sized pages. A dollar for 15pp of thoughts. You simply cannot go…See More

So, my PO Box continues to be a source of wonder and hilarity, not tomention the occasional crumpled dollar bills. Yahoo for crumpled dollarbills. It amazes me that I got a PO Box in 2001 (about six years afterstarting my zine; for the first six years I actually did everythingfrom my own mailing address, until the dead rats and death threatsstarted filtering in) and I still have it, and I'm still getting coolshit in the mail there every week. not as much as I used to, but thenI'm so lazy about…See More
