Zinester response to Occupy Writers petition?

I'd expect a shout of protest to go up among zinesters at the grab for the cultural reins of OWS by the literary elite as per the Occupy Writers petition. Alternative writers created online petitions…Continue

If you're into outdoor culture -- bikes, boats, skis, exploring, primitive skills, transpo, gardening and such -- here ya go! Let's take a sustainability angle because the mainstream covers the consumerist side.

Jeff Potter replied to Tom Hendricks's discussion Steve Jobs made Desktop Publishing open to all which led to the zine explosion.
"Macs were the first computers to offer desktop layout software like PageMaker. I'd say that the somewhat affordable availability of that kind of software timed exactly with the Zine Explosion.   The Mac seems likely involved with the…"

I've published "Out Your Back Door," a zine of indie outdoor culture, since 1991, but mostly online since 2004 or so. I still do a print zine that I include with customer order boxes for folks who buy stuff from my website at http://OutYourBackDoor.com. I also sell em for $1 ea at show booths.

I'm interested in trying to find effective ways of getting the indie word out, especially to folks who presently don't get much indie word.

This Ning zine page/scene looks like it might be a good one!
