Would people be okay with posting calls for submissions (that are posted on this site) elsewhere? I'd like to start posting other zines' calls for submissions on my blog, but I don't want to do it if…Continue

Hiya!

I'm a twenty-something US expat who is now a citizen of Australia. I like making a variety of zines. I'm definitely open to trades and lean towards perzines, photography zines, travel zines...

ZINES

Dear Anonymous V1, Dear Anonymous V2

Dear Anonymous is a zine of the unspoken. A collection of letters of love, loss and emotions inbetween, the letters are bound to move you.

Don't Call Me Cupcake

My very first perzine in which I talk about learning to accept being bipolar, the long road to finding a therapist I like, art therapy, my adorable zine ninja, a zine review and more.

The Perfect Pocket Guinness GuideSoon to be retired - 3 copies left!

This mini-zine is a guide to the perfect pour of Guinness for bar personnel and Guinness lovers alike. With a bit of history and a poem about the dark drink, this guide will have you smiling.

Occupy MelbourneSoon to be retired - 23 copies left

A half-fold zine featuring Occupy Melbourne, pictures, features like 'Thoughts From a First Time Protester', and my view of the online uproar when police descended on City Square to evict the protesters.

A Bit Spesh

Well, I have half a dozen letters now for DA3, and that's good enough for me to get a start on making the issue.

But, because I love making my life more complicated than it needs to be, I've decided I want to 'freshen up' Dear Anonymous. I need tougher covers (rather than green copy paper) for starters. I also think I'm going to do an intro as well rather than just the letter from me at the end. I was going through 1 and 2, and I realised that people might like some warning about the…

Pondering a Pen Name

I've recently started my first perzine. That's not to say it's the first perzine I've started. What I mean to say is that I have started a perzine that I fully intend to publish, at which point it will become my first perzine.

It occurs to me that perzines, being of the nature they are, can invite unwanted attention into one's life if one chooses to publish under one's own name. While I certainly don't feel that I should feel ashamed of anything I write, there's also things like…

Call for Submissions!

Dear Anonymous 3 is on its way and I'm once again looking for letters!

Lessons learned from DA1:

*250 words or less is good (for one page)

*500 words or less is good (for two pages)

So, basically, you're right in the 1 - 500 words range, but shorter is better. BUT, this zine is about expression, and I don't want to force anyone to clamp down on their passion just for me. I'm flexible. :)

As for content, these letters can be confessionals,…

Hi, Jaime. Arrived home after a week away to find your zines in the mail; just wanted to let you know I read the first one & enjoyed it... interesting format! Will read the other one later. Wondering if any of the "letters" are yours or are they all from contributors? Not that it matters... Hope my Chronicles arrive soon and you find something with to enjoy as well.  -Ken
