mistrettazine: a first draft

mistrettazine is the provisorial name for my new creation. it takes its name from mistretta, a little town in sicily that was named after the Goddess Astarte. the first issue of the zine will feature: an english translation of um urnàt, a fairy tale by bjork, a biography of ulrike meinhof, a review of the movie "themroc" by faraldo, and bits from my personal diary and blog. the zine will be written both in italian and english.See More

about the zinester:

Giulia R., from palermo, italy. i've been into zines for about four years now, i've read plenty and i've started a few, of which only one was completed (the first issue of "the oak", a perzine). now i'm thinking about starting another one, and i'm here to search for inspiration and eventually i'll post about it. at the moment the project is to make a zine that includes words from my personal diary and recensions of music, movies and books.

i am the bassist for the italian post-punk band PSORIASI!. my interests include: philosophy, books, music, movies, the divine feminine and Astarte in particular, sicilian traditions, theatre, painting, sewing and embroiding and, of course, reading\making zines.
