Ah yes, those thousands of paying zine jobs. They just can't get anyone to DO them! No, I've never hired anyone, but I've had dozens of interviews, and Nicole is right: you say the least amount possible in order to get yourself hired, and stay ab...

There was a late-season episode of the Simpsons where Lisa starts a zine (calls it a newspaper, but really, it's a zine) as a response to Mr. Burns buying the newspaper. A bunch of other Springfieldians start zines too. Bart also drew a self-produ...

I ordered a zine grab bag from a music distro I used to order from quite frequently. Most of them were crappy punk rock music zines (disappointing, as I've never been a huge fan of punk and especially not hardcore punk), but there was one in there...

Sharpie pen FTW! I've never handwritten a zine because my penmanship is atrocious, but one piece of advice I read is to write your zine in a larger size than it will be printed at, and then shrink it down on the copier. Most people write more nea...

I don't usually write letters to zinesters I don't know, because it's hard to switch gears from "writing-style" critique, the kind meant for people in my writing group (when I belonged to one) and that I trade writing with over email, to "zine-sty...

With all due respect, Dan, your employers aren't going to care about your feelings. Welcome to the real world! If you want to improve on your writing by putting it out there for an audience to review, especially an audience you want to PAY you for...

I'd leave it in, but perhaps add a postscript about how you're not with him anymore and your paths have diverged? Something like that would probably just make me stop reprinting the zine entirely, myself.

I do the zine Breakfast at Twilight, the minicomic Evolution Comics, and run the fledgling distro Black Light Diner.

Hey everyone! This is a short update listing the newest zines and comics in at Black Light Diner Distro!

YOU CAN'T GET THERE FROM HERE #9 (Somerville, MA)

black light diner distro, february update 2009

Hey everyone, just wanted to show you some of the comics and zines that have been recently added to Black Light Diner Distro!

EIGHTEEN LONG DAYS (Amherst, MA)
Leann’s travel diary documents her journey to Chicago in January 2007 to take a writing class with cartoonist Lynda Barry (one of my favorites, too). On the way, she celebrates Xmas with family, bonds with her sister, explores art galleries, and trawls the Windy City. The drawings a… Continue

Black Light Diner Distro IS OPEN

Well, it's been open for awhile now, but this is the first I've talked of it other than on my own LJ and We Make Zines. Black Light Diner is a distro specializing in (though not limited to) comics zines, minicomics, and other forms of sequential art zine-type publications. Some things in stock right now:

Art School Chronicles #1: This 24-hour comics zine documents Jessica’s first year as a g… Continue

Hello friend of Sticky. If you have made a zine recently, are still reprinting old copies of a zine, have old copies lying around or are thinking of making zine, we want you to stock it with us! If you haven't stocked with us before, here's how you do it. Visit our website (www.stickyinstitute.com) and download a stockists form. Fill it out and send it with up to ten copies of your zine to Sticky, P.O. Box 310, Flinders Lane, VIC 8009. We have them on the shelves for 6 months at which time, if they've sold out we'll pay you and if they haven't totally sold out we'll pay you for the copies you have sold and send the remaining copies back to you or donate them to the Exchange Box. To those of you have stocked with us previously, keep sending us your zines! Zine culture is alive and kicking in Australia and Sticky is an ardent defender of zine culture!
Love from Sticky!

I make zines too! Actually, yes, I feel kind of weird on here, and I don't really understand the whole thing yet. But I am trying to get back into the zine realm, albeit very slowly, and still very much outsiderly.

Hi, Erica! I received your letter. I have my zines ready to send you, minus an envelope big enough to send them, which I will have to get tomorrow. My zines will be in the mail for you Wednesday at the latest.
