New Stuff!

I have been neglectful over here and decided to fix that particular faux pas. Anyway, I recently got a book entitled Whatch Mean? What's A Zine? Very cool book and I would recommend it to anyone here. Because of that I have started a new mini zine called Doug Life. There was this neat way to fold and cut a single piece of paper to make a zine that I have implemented for Doug Life. The first one is done for anyone who wants to trade. I also have a new issue of my Fu-Manchu mini called Fu-Manchu V… Continue

From The Trenches

Since I just got done with a mini comic for my youngest daughetr, Dandelion, I decided to do one for my older daughter, Delia. Of course they are night and day. Where Dandy is a blonde, princess with a penchant for 80's slasher flicks, Delia is a darker, emo… Continue

HELLO!

I have published a zine entitled Divine Exploitation since 1988. It mainly covers the entertainment genre and I am getting ready to do a series of one shots that focus on micro budget film makers. The first issue will deal with Mark Baranowski and his wife Teresa who goes by the name Ryli Morgan.

Hello friend of Sticky. If you have made a zine recently, are still reprinting old copies of a zine, have old copies lying around or are thinking of making zine, we want you to stock it with us! If you haven't stocked with us before, here's how you do it. Visit our website (www.stickyinstitute.com) and download a stockists form. Fill it out and send it with up to ten copies of your zine to Sticky, P.O. Box 310, Flinders Lane, VIC 8009. We have them on the shelves for 6 months at which time, if they've sold out we'll pay you and if they haven't totally sold out we'll pay you for the copies you have sold and send the remaining copies back to you or donate them to the Exchange Box. To those of you have stocked with us previously, keep sending us your zines! Zine culture is alive and kicking in Australia and Sticky is an ardent defender of zine culture!
Love from Sticky!

Ain't that the bloody truth!

Brrrrrr........ It would not hurt my feelings at all if I woke up tomorrow and it was April, thankyouverymuch!

So, I'm pretty new to making zines. Well, some friends and I kinda had one for a while I guess... We had a 16 page monthly newspaper, tabloid size, that ran for 8 months. CopyRight News Magazine. It was incredible, and I was/am really proud of it. I wrote a lot for it, edited the entertainment section, and did all the layouts on InDesign. Then one of my partners in the endeavor went off the deep end and became impossible to work with, so I washed my hands of it before she sank it. Sigh.

Anyway, do you know many zinesters in the area? I know none in my immediate vicinity, sadly. Well, I *will*, since I have inspired a couple of friends to self-publish. It would be nice to get involved with some other people and establish a scene!
