I second freerice.com. So fun. Also: http://dictionary.reference.com/fun/ Beyond that, I also like a more straightforward style that isn't tripping over itself with $100,000 words. I don't think building one's vocab = adding bigger words. I agre...

This whole thing about wanting to get as much attention as possible to publish as many copies as possible to reach as many people as possible necessarily contradicts one of what I consider the main joys and aims of zines - the ability to interact ...

Seriously...save your thoughts for one post. For real.

I don't think squatting on corporate forum space to chat with other zinesters in a casual way is the same as seeking corporate approval for one's independent creations in order to sell more zines. Also, KW didn't lay out the punk origins and "We ...

I swear Karl and Tom could be the same person by the way "they" speak for everyone and listen to none.

I'm working on a one off which is a revised version of a paper on gender identity, perception and expression that I wrote this last spring. It is a "mystory" which was challenging because none of us could really figure out what a mystory was. None...

There are many kinds of feminism. And if anyone is obsessed with trying to dictate who is a real feminist or not, it is my opinion that their attitude is not particularly feminist to begin with...at least, not "my" kind of feminist. As far as I am...

I think another thing to look at is...are companies, businesses, and organizations being trained to understand what internships really are and what they are really meant to provide? I think a lot of companies just look at internships as free grunt...

There is a "war on creativity" now? I can't wait until someday when we lose these Bush-isms. I also tire of all-or-nothing-isms. And tired over-generalizations. This "age of spectacular mediocrity?" There are so many amazing people doing so many b...

And computers and paper cutters and staplers and various things squirreled away in different departments that are open to use...lol. Kind of nice.

Eeeentroh...

I am a 37 year old genderqueer grrrrl who has had a series of one night stands with zines over the years. I "discovered" the scene in the 80s and kind of lost touch sometime after Factsheet Five passed away. I'm coming back to zineland, this time with the intent to publish. I've been crazy busy all year, but made the executive decision to take all of August off and do things that aren't work or school [I returned to finish my undergrad in English/Journalism.] I will have no cash and all kinds of time, so that should lead to the perfect recipe for creative experimentation.

Some random things that make my socks roll up and down = Lapsang Souchong Black Tea, Black Uniball Vision Exact Micro pens, buttery soft t-shirts, the intersection of art and science, spatial reasoning, campfires, paradoxes, warm rain, core friends, essential acquaintances, amusing strangers, humorous and heartbreaking honesty, LEED architecture, mountain bike and hiking trails, old road bikes, high fives, gypsy folk music, Cirque Berserk, burlesque, sex positive culture, Eddie Izzard, Thai coffee the way that I can only get it at Racy's, my red Swingline stapler, the downwardly mobile, and drag queens in limousines.

Hi! I think to send mail where I will be moving to will be best...
the address is
bernard?
907 Williamson St #1
Madison, WI
53703

The house has names+symbols for each resident on the mailbox (for example, chancho is a botanist and therefore has a flower, tops' full name is Sara Tops so they have a dinosaur...) & they've already put a little "bernard?" with a mustache for me<3

Ahaaa - I see you like oranges. I saw a see-through plastic-packaged single orange in a shop a few years ago and on it were the words...'CITRUS SNACK'. Haha! : /

Dear Betty - thanks so much for your comment! It gave me a much-needed boost as it's my first day back at work after a camping holiday with my partner and her family in Wales.
Anyway...how are your creative project/s going? I would love a sneek peek and/or an update. Please let me know when you complete the zine/s. At this end: MUDPACK was going oh so well but then Summer arrived and...erm...hmmmph!!"£$%^

Nice meeting you and stay in touch! Emmett ; )

I received your order and got a copy of Mistaken for Straight in the mail to you today. Sorry it's taken me a little while. I am in the process of a move, and my material possessions are in a bit of a disarray.
