I know now why Zine making is tought in college courses and in middle schools. Its hard. If anyone could shed light on my overwhelming situation I'll send you free copies of the first issue. Sweet. What part of New York are you in?

The first thing I would do is create a physical template with page numbers so that you can get a feel for the print layout. Then set up your layout in scribus (I've never used it so I can't help there). I do my layouts in Quark and tend to create the initial zine layout in readable order to make it easier. Then I go back and rearrange the pages for print. This also allows me to save each so that I can offer downloadable pdfs.

You can and look at my zines to use as examples here http://reclusiveobscenities.blogspot.com/p/zine.html

Then you can print a copy and add your cut and paste elements and be ready for copying.

If you have any specific questions ask away :)
