This 26 page issue is an introduction to my three greatest passions: riot grrrl, punk music and feminism! It features an interview with Houston based hardcore band “Shopping for Death”. Additionally, I confess a very sexist experience within the Nashville punk scene. There are references to musicians Lauren Denitzio and David Combs (Spoonboy) whose bravery on addressing these issues to a wide audience inspired me to come out and voice my own experiences because the scene is not perfect and instead of denying that sexism exists we should all be in the fight against it in order to improve the scene for everyone. Topics also include reconstructing masculinity and the ways in which feminism is important politically, economically and socially.
It's $1 plus shipping or I trade. Message me or e-mail at Riotgrrrl56@yahoo.com if interested. =)
