a place for zinesters - writers and readers
More of a book than a zine. 19-page perfect-bound paperback. Color cover, b&w inside with photos of pretty, junky things (like on the cover) and kind of contemporary beat-style run on writings that are best experienced out loud. A good bedtime story for those of us for whom life is half mortal battle and half exhilarating train wreck, to mix some metaphors. Here's a preview:
"TRIAL: Can’t trust it, don’t trust this, suspicious and malicious, nacho chips and fishes eating away at your peace. Pieces falling away from your ears, eyes shedding water like tears. Tear out the safe, locked up for years. Unlock the gate, drive by the old man’s cabin, look through the lit window in the night, looking for your lost pieces, your posters and comforters, your books, your quiet lint beneath the bed. Dress up in plastic, carve your name in your arm. Arm yourself with a clean conscience, the soft underside of it lies heaving in the sand, crab’s legs mindlessly moving in the sun, in praise or distress you can’t really tell. Tell us the truth, the whole and nothing but. Dear Judge, I bow to you now and say I would, I would, I would if I could. So help me god."
