Share 'What other Ning pages do you participate in?'

Hi,   I'm new to the whole Ning thing...   I've been trying to look up networks for independent comics creators — and everything seems to be shut down (I guess because it looks like Ning recently started charging creators?). Is this platform obsolete? If not, what other networks do you all dig?   Thanks, Alison
