Mixed Race, Multi Racial, mixie zine

Mixed Race, Multi Racial, mixie zine

I propose a zine about mixed race people, the mixie. The mixie experience is one worth documenting, and I invite anyone, mixie or not to participate in collecting some thoughts. First, we need an editorial team. Who would like to collaborate?

Mixed race zine

I started this page to collect prospective work about the global mixed race experience. Soon, I began to see the use of the page as a viewers' space as well. I encourage everyone who drops by to announce their presence and introduce themselves and whether they are a viewer or reader.

I hope nobody thinks this endeavor is exclusionary, because, I welcome creative, original work from ANYONE. As long as it is a solid comment about the mixed race experience and is respectful to everyone, I welcome its inclusion.

This is a long term project, an with the help of all our friends, we can make something unique.

Some ideas about presentation

It would be cool to design the zine for mobile viewing (so we can accomodate any kind of media) and a traditional print version. I am envisioning a zine we publish in color with photographs and…Continue

Thank you for the interest, Ms Harriet. From your picture, you are an able compiler and presenter. Glad to have you here.

Hope to hear or see work you have following our theme. I am thinking this is a long term project that work will slowly trickle in. Additionally, I hope we can get our mixie friends aboard by telling them about the zine.

Also, We need editorial help! Hope you are happy enough to help a bit with that.

for the creative side, we need themes. I can think of some that we can use: 'being asked "what are you?"', mistaken identities, family experiences, other mixie we've met, one's ethnic description.

It would make me very happy if I could have portrait photos of everyone who submits. here, I want to clarify that anyone, multi-racial or not, can participate here. The only requirements: work is original, and respectful. People who have had multi racial folks in their lives are free to participate in any capacity as well.
