Here's a recipe for homemade glue. & a variation. I haven't tried those recipes, though. I've used my Mom's rice paste & boiled flour paste "recipes," which are pretty similar. (Eyeballed, no measurements.) Paper to paper, it works. You just need a brush to apply the glue. (Or your fingers, if you wanna get dirty.)

 

I hope that helps anyone who needs glue in a pinch. (I know my most productive hours are between midnight & 4AM, when shops are closed.)

I think we have a Kinko's in the next town over from ours, but I'm not really sure cause I only go to their town center and mall. lol.

Kinko's is a great place to "get" glue sticks or tape ;)  Aren't they rich and wealthy yet anyway?  or you can borrow some from your local library/school.  These are only suggestions, I am poor and would be right there with you for a pledge drive!

And, for the cut-and-paste zinesters, I'm sure glue and tape are the biggies. :)

Maybe in addition to trading materials, we could start a glue and tape pledge drive a la PBS or NPR. Everyone pledges some stuff, and when someone is desperately poor and needs to zine or art in order to keep from losing their shit, we can all send them our pledges :)

lol, sweet! like i said in my last comment, i'll probably get some more stuff later this week and the glue and scotchtape thing, i think everybody has that problem. lol. unless of course they're a hoarder or something jk. i'm planning to go shopping next weekend for some glue and scotch tape next weekend though. people in this group can make care packages for each other!!!!

I have some old calendars, a few issues of The Artist's Magazine which I have come to detest, a sheet or two of a Chinese newspaper, TONS of old sketchbooks I can tear pages out of...um...I'm sure I can find more as I clean out my house. I'm always in desperate need of glue sticks and scotch tape :)

I have playing cards with birds and some sort of plant on the back in green or yellow. an x-ray of a cartoon turtle, but it's kind of small, and half of a yellow jacket (wings and stinger) drawing from my school newspaper so far. I'll be getting other stuff from a friend sometime this week so if there's more stuff I'll add it to my list.
