Hi there, I started the Niagara College Zine Library in September 2009 and am still looking for donations. If anyone would like to help me out, please e-mail me at nczinelibrary@gmail.com. Thanks a lot! :)

The Special Collections at the John T. Richardson Library at DePaul University and Chicago Underground Library are the two main zine libraries in Chicago. If you know of any more significant ones, please let me know. Thanx!

Yo yo! After many years of dressing as a bunny, and selling zines, I've decided I've only got the energy for one of those things. Yes, I went with the bunny suit. So that means a massive "Going out of business!" sale at www.loopdistro.com

check out the site, email a list of what you want, and I will tell you the total cost. right now, all zines are $1 each, and books are half price. other distros and libraries will get even better pricing. i'll do what i can (but i'm totally broke too, ya know!)

hit me up! loopdistro@gmail.com

cheers!

My nickname is giz, I'm not really a librarian (well, I got plenty of books and zines home) but this is what I want to do after college.

My name is Jerianne Thompson. I am a graduate student in the School of Information Sciences at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I am also a zine librarian and a zine publisher. I am conducting an academic research project to collect data about cataloging zines in libraries.

I am working with a group of zine librarians to improve the process of cataloging zines. We hope to ultimately develop a union catalog for zines -- an online catalog containing cataloging records that can be shared by multiple libraries and organizations with zine collections. In order to guide the development of this union catalog, I am conducting a survey of current zine cataloging methods and practices, and preferences for a shared cataloging tool.

I hope to gather information from as many libraries as possible, including libraries of all types and other organizations with a zine collection. I hope you will assist me with this project by having someone affiliated with the zine collection at your library complete this brief, 10 question survey.

The survey may be completed at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=gZYM5_2bWsXbk1BEmoZy0A6A_3d_3d. Because the questions are about zine cataloging practices and preferences for online cataloging records, please have your cataloger or someone aware of your library's zine cataloging methods complete the survey. The end result of this research will be a paper reporting on this assessment and outlining recommendations to the zine catalog working group.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at jthomp42@utk.edu. You may also write to me at PO Box 330156, Murfreesboro TN 37133. Thank you for your assistance.

Can anyone tell me if there is a zine library in the Washington, D.C. area? I just moved here recently and my google searches are not turning up anything.
