Looking to start a mobile zine library in my town because they library will not take zines. Their best answer is that they don't know how to process them I guess because they do not come with ready made catalog numbers.

But my library has a separate scan label for their books. I have been asking for years, so now I am just going to start one myself.

The idea is to set up zine reading events and bring my zines.

Any advise on how to start this thing?

There's a scholarship available (currently $190) for someone from an underrepresented group (e.g., poc, disabled) for the zine librarians unconference in Pittsburgh next month.  Email zines@barnard.edu to apply or to donate.

I missed the question about Intimate Ephemera. I have it, and to my memory it wasn't hard to find. Where do you live? Email me if you want to take this discussion offline. zines@barnard.edu

Hi everyone! Does anyone has a clue of where can I buy the book "Intimate Ephemera - Reading Young Lives in Australian Zine Culture", by Anna Poletti? Thanks!

Hey gang, check us out on Etsy: Last Word Press is up and running!

We also run the Olympia Zine Library at Last Word Books.

We are currently reprinting a lot of older political pamphlets that need to see the light of day, and drawing from the stacks in the Olympia Zine Library to provide. Come pay our shop a visit if you're in the area!

Not a zine librarian (an Emerging Technology Librarian, actually), but a zine making librarian. I'm turning a selection of my season creep haiku into free, single page zines, distributed Melbourne's Sticky Institute and in PDF thru Scribd and season creep: http://seasoncreep.blogspot.com/2011/08/5811.html

Congrats on the Albuquerque Zinefest!  I wish I could go.  My brother lives there, so maybe next year...
