Hiya! & Howdy! I actually was not aware of this group, until NicoleIntrovert brought it to my attention. I have organized zine events in the past, probably most notably the READ Zine Making Parties (since 2001). However I am now working with the Chicago Zine Fest to create a new event, a ZFO conference. The idea was discussed between the organizers of the Chicago Zine Fest and the Portland Zine Symposium, this year in Portland. I am helping the Chicago Zine Fest organizers to organize ZFOs (zine fest organizers) from around the country (& world). If you are a ZFO, please join in the conversation here:

AUSTRALIA/ACT-Canberra

I was just wondering... how many of you are going to be at nga zine fair as part of the space invaders art exhibition Oct 30th???

"Drawn entirely from the collection of the National Gallery of Australia, the first Australian institution to have collected this type of work, Space invaders: australian . street . stencils . posters . paste-ups . zines . stickers surveys the past 10 years of Australian street art. Featuring 150 works by over 40 Australian artists, this exhibition celebrates the energy of street-based creativity and recognises street stencils, posters, paste-ups, zines and stickers as comprising a recent chapter in the development of Australian prints and drawings.. "

Is there a zine fest in London, Ontario? If so, when is it and where can I find more info about it?

we're trying to organize a fundraising event in south texas.... its going to be an art show of sorts that focuses mainly on indie culture (zines, independent artists and music). any tips or ideas? or is anyone willing to donate zines or artworks that we could display and/or reproduce to be sold at the event? proceeds of the fundraiser will be used to organize more events or even co-sponsor other bigger events in out places... we goal is to foster the independent culture (which of course includes zines!)

for more info, drop me a line. =) we're still working on finalizing the details.
