Issue #001 of "If you'd like to hear it // I can sing it for you" is out now! This zine is focused on the negotiation of an aging body and a “forgetful” self in an unaccommodating world, as well as accounts of chronic illness and the end-of-life experiences of an aging self.

Visit us at agingzine.tumblr.com >> // facebook.com/agingzine >> and get a copy of the first issue at agingzine.storenvy.com >>.

"Balm Digest #1" reviewhttp://www.sonyaellenmann.com/

California based zine/author

When I first sorted through the copy that Ms Mann mailed out, I was happy to find the subject of mushrooms. It is my opinion that they (mushrooms) are one of the most fascinating vegetables and lifeforms in the plant kingdom. Upon reading the first few pages, I realized that this was not just a scientific dissertation, but a diverse collection of art on mushroom life. There are a few longer articles, and poems, and artwork/drawing, even a recipe. I would like to emphasis the layout and production value. Here is a wonderfully understated compilation. The subject, is quite fascinating and the way it is dealt with is creative. Opinions will always vary, as to the validity of writing on a particular subject. Some prefer, 'realism'. Some prefer 'surrealism'. Some prefer facts and some prefer prose poetry. Some prefer that the writing be a culmination of weeks or months of rough draft and revision. Zines generally are not that - and this is not in my opinion, exactly that. It has a more conversation feel to the writings, and the poems give a variation to the pace. It is quite fascinating as well to hear about this:

(Dont mean to give that away....)

Very pleased to have received this as I think, the style of writing is very genuine. Seems intellectual but has some heart in it. Thats just my thoughts...contact the website above for more info.

It's a rainy morning in Portland and I hope it's getting back to normal weather around here! I'm working on a kickstarter for the reprint of my book and I'd love your help!

Stolen Sharpie Revolution: a DIY Resource for zines and zine culture (5th Edition) Kickstarter

Since 2002 Stolen Sharpie Revolution has been the go-to resource for zines and zine culture. With over 21,000 copies in print, this book is poised to break the quarter-hundred-thousand copy barrier at least BUT I NEED YOUR HELP!

I am 15 days and half way through the Stolen Sharpie revolution Kickstater, but we don’t quite have half the funds yet! Please consider backing this kickstarter. if not for you, for the next generation of zine kids that are just as excited and a little bit confuse as you were when you trying to do your first layout.

Hey friends! I recently posted a blog post about my zine and my connection to the zine community. I also put a bunch of my zines up on my etsy shop. I'd love it if you could check them out! <3

yeah . . . west coasters are a bunch of pussies . . . but I guess I'm out here so I'll post my new zine.  It's the new wiseblood!  #60!  It's the "my eyes are wide open but there ain't nobody home issue!"  It's got punk rock, feminism, having to defend wiseblood against accusations of racism by other we make zine members, cats (of course -- since they are gods), volkswagons, and getting beat up by the pigs.  So read wiseblood and kill a cop today.

and remember . . . we love you!
