Hey,
Do any of you guys know if ZineFest Houston is going on this year? Their webpage hasn't been updated since last year and my email to their contact email address got bounced back. Any information would be much appreciated!
Thank you!

hello hello :) was just wondering if anyone is kind enough to be interested in donating some zines or art to Plunge. It is a group that seeks to raise funds in pursuit and support of art and emergent culture :) you can email me at: i_reply@live.com and you may also learn more about the group through out ning network: http://plunge.ning.com

thanks and have a great day all! :)

bah, I'm at the south most egde in Brownsville (right next to mexico)... and i cant wait to get out of here. XD I'm thinking either Austin or Florida... but yeah i should really plan to go out of town soon and see what's going on in other cities... my town is feels dead, really.

I think a lot of zinesters are in Austin... just not on here.
We personally know a few, but most we know aren't too prolific.
We make a zine page a day but it goes online and gets printed later on.

Austin is filled to the brim with musicians and artists, but most don't seem to be fans of many others. Not locally anyway.
Exceptions are abounding of course. Like any city.

Austin has two great stores for finding zines.
One is Austin Books and Comics. They have a lot of zines and minis and indie and... other. The other is MonkeyWrench Books. they have anarchy covered pretty well.
Plus events. ect.

Houston too, has a lot of zinesters, and Houston Zinefest is pretty fun.

Where are you located in Texas, I Am?

it's kinda weird that there seems not to be a lot of zinesters on here from tx... id think there'd be a lot, with austin having so many creative people--with craft fairs and so many indie movements going on there...
