The Sweet Treat Press needs your help! We've written a biking advocacy zine but we need help to fund printing. We've launched a project on Kickstarter and it's mega awesome so go check it out.
Our Goals
We want to print 500 copies of the zine on 100% recycled paper and distribute those copies to independent bookstores to promote biking and zines.
You can check out the project page and video here

We need to raise our printing money by August 15th or we won't get any of the funds pledged thus far. It only takes a few minutes and you can pledge as little as $1!
If you feel like you could contribute to my project, that's great! If not, maybe you can pass it on to a few people you think would be interested in it!
Thanks,
Ursus

Comment by LidFlipper on January 13, 2011 at 8:58pm Hi everyone! I'm very slowly working on my first zine; I don't expect it'll be ready for awhile (I am happy with some of what I have so far, though). Recently I did some work for a friend and we discovered stacks of old local Twin Cities zines from the 80's and 90's, some Raygun Mags, ancient comics, and more! My interest is in seeing if anyone is familiar with the zines that I found....I'd like to know more about them. If I were to list the zines we dug up, could I trouble someone to take a look and see if they recognize them?
I would be eternally grateful!
Cheers,
LidFlipper
I'm teaching a Making Your Own Zine community ed class in Bloomington, MN over three weeks starting 3/2. Here's a link if you'd be interested:

I'll be posting on my blog ( http://findingjimmy.blogspot.com )about it soon but basically it will be a start-to-finish making your own zine class, with lots of in-class writing exercises to get you out of your own way so you can write what you really want to write! I'll give you some handouts, and you'll have assignments of things to find/make at home to bring for the assembling class, and I'll always have oodles of zines to look at for inspiration.
At the end I'll get everyone's addresses, take your finished zines, then mail you a copy of each person's zine along with your originals so you can go forth and spread your creation!
