"Falling Apart: A zine on death, grief, mourning and loss." This zine is about grieving and mourning the death of someone while using letters, stories, poetry, artwork, photography as a way to help cope with grief. There is a lot of misunderstanding when it comes to the death of a loved one....a lot of "time heals all wounds," "life goes on" and "what's done is done." Am hoping this zine will try to help people understand grief and not shaming those who are mourning into silence, denial, isolation and to "just get over it." The grief zine is 38 pages and it's typed. Currently have 10 copies on hand. If you would like to trade, contact me through the facebook page, send a message through wemakezines or email Sandra_reiki_@hotmail.com

Have a zine in the works and just aren't getting it done? Have an idea that is overdue to be born? Tom Magee from Mailaise Crew and WJ from QueerContent are facilitating a 24hr zine challenge to get stuff done (we're also unemployed, broke, and bored).
When: Monday, 9th February @ 9am Where: Tom's House
Be sure to bring your own tools/stapler/paper. There will be food - maybe pizza - but it would be rad if everyone brought something to share. WJ is baking, so the real challenge is to out-do him.
All zine makers of all varieties welcome! You don't even have to stick around or make a zine: you could make a comic if you like, squeeze a page into (or check out) someone else's progress. We just get together and harness the power of zine making while meeting some awesome creators.

I've just finished the Ken Chronicles #34, a 24-digest-sized-page zine (plus cover wrap). Inside are some LOCs, stories about travel, a local car show, thoughts on retirement, reviews of music, movies, books & zines, and more (with photos interspersed throughout). $3 postpaid to the USA but always interested in trades (perzines, travel zines, etc., what have you got?)
Just finished my first issue of wandering home, a perzine with journal entries chronicling a cross Canada trip (one city per issue) as well as journal entries from age 12-present.
A little reflection on my life, and how your perspective changes the older you get. Issue one features journal entry from sixteen, the beginning of our trip, as well as some random writings.
just looking to trade at the moment, shoot me an email if you're interested!
if you'd like a copy for free, or wish to trade -just message or comment me your address
Just completed the latest issue of the Ken Chronicles (#33): 32 digest-sized pages (including covers). It features non-fiction & photos about side jobs I've worked over the years; tabling at Pete's Candy Store Mini Zine Fest; things that break or go wrong around the house; plus some zine reviews and random thoughts.
On its way to my regular trading partners and available to all for $3 (pp to USA) or possible trade (what have to got?)
Like Lightning #2 - 1/4-sized, 24 pages, blue opalescent card-stock cover with gold lightning bolt decal.
Like the first issue, Like Lightning #2’s format is inspired by Anne Carson’s “Short Talks”—brief vignettes on various topics. Unlike the first issue, #2 shares snapshots of a single story. Our woman burns down her childhood home, changes her name and hair color and runs away, first south, then west, to find a new place and state of existence. Sort of a perzine, sort of a literary zine.
On Adairs Run
Driving through the mountains fills her with joy and sadness. The angry crags, the ravines, the rusty train tracks cutting through the terrain, the long, winding roads leading off to nowhere, the intersections with two cars, the small, secluded houses, the rundown, clapboard fruit stands teetering over the soft shoulders of Adairs Run. If only she could press down her palm, flatten everything out and then sprinkle a layer of dust, she’d feel as though she’s made it to her Oklahoma. So close, and yet. She see rivers and rusted-out pick-up trucks and people fly-fishing. The sun singes the trees red.

My names Millie I'm 22 and Living in Christchurch, New Zealand. I'm in my last year of studying graphic design at Ilam School of Fine Arts. For my year long project this year I've been producing a series of zines called Space Book; where I've been looking in to the four spatial boundaries (intimate, personal, social, public) people require to feel comfortable and what these mean to them.
I've produced 4 so far all on our schools Riso-graph printer.
