Great opportunity to find out what people - at least those in the area surrounding Madison, Wisconsin - put in their zines and why:

The 2014 Madison Zine Fest will be a day-long celebration of creatively subversive print culture.

The fest will be on Saturday, Nov. 1, 11AM-5PM, at Madison's Central Public Library, 201 W Mifflin St.

Gag Me With A...

the 11:11 issue

"Paranormal & the Occult"

by MC Sunflower Jones

Comp zine edited by Deirdree Prudence & Steven Hughes Purkey

Witches, poltergeists, & a dash of extraterrestrial magick will haunt your daydreams dousing rainbow'd ectoplasm straight from the hipster's grimoire...imagine a sparkling Necronomicon complete with purple ribbon'd bookmark & glitter glued ambiance.

The 11:11 issue of Gag Me With A... conjures dark artists from the deepest regions of space & time. Art & words spanning 48 pages of true tales, poetry, fiction, spells, hexes, potions, paintings, collage work, drawings, & comics...all seeping from dragon's blood oil & blessed by the high priestess of zinecraft, herself. Artwork is printed on 3 different deadly shades of paper bound with ecstatically popping staples ~ both in black & white, & color copies using only the finest poisonous alchemist's inks...

At last, I made time to do something about being more a part of wemakezines.  Thanks Krissy for the kick in the butt!  xx  I've just completed the first in my Crime Series, murder, mystery, secret compartments, notes, and alternate endings!!  The first is called ' A State' and both the antagonist and protagonist are in one!!!!!   I've also listed the first in the Abecedarium series, U for Umbrella.  A matchbox zine with painted brollies one side and quirky and interesting facts about umbrellas on the other.  Go to my etsy shop here:

www.etsy.com/au/shop/ludouglasdesigns Now I'm off to check out some of yours!

Hey there! I have made over 30 issues of my zine, Brainscan. The ones that are still in print are available in my Etsy shop here. Brainscan 31 is my newest.I'm also currently working on a Kickstarter campaign to to fund the 5th printing of my book about zines, Stolen Sharpie Revolution. I'd love it if you could back it!

Stolen Sharpie Revolution: a DIY Resource for zines and zine culture (5th Edition) Kickstarter

Since 2002 Stolen Sharpie Revolution has been the go-to resource for zines and zine culture. With over 21,000 copies in print, this book is poised to break the quarter-hundred-thousand copy barrier at least BUT I NEED YOUR HELP!

I am 15 days and half way through the Stolen Sharpie revolution Kickstater, but we don’t quite have half the funds yet! Please consider backing this kickstarter. if not for you, for the next generation of zine kids that are just as excited and a little bit confuse as you were when you trying to do your first layout.

Hello zinesters! I am 20 years old, live in San Francisco and publish a music magazine called TEENAGE NEWS. I would love to trade, sell or give you fine folks a copy.

In short, "TEENAGE NEWS is based around an unceasing desire to rediscover long-lost, favorite records. TEENAGE NEWS is not limited to a specific audience; it is for those who are trying to recreate that initial captivation of falling for an album, artist, song, era, ideology, etc. TEENAGE NEWS is about the reader getting lost in the moment, learning about themselves, and learning about the STARS that created much more than pieces of merchandise."

Issue #2 proves that TEENAGE NEWS always hits you full force. Back with educating and entertaining interviews, prepare to lose yourself in this teenage paradise.

Features: Cherie Currie (Runaways), Gary Powell (Libertines, Dirty Pretty Things), Jennifer Clavin (Bleached), Klaus Nomi, Dave Davies (The Kinks), Cherry Vanilla's Pop Tart Compositions, Joey Pinter, Bobby Jameson, Tommy James (the Shondells), Desert Island Discs by the STARS, The Mutants, Vinnie Kircher (Jaill), album reviews.
