Rock Army Music Regional Rep Program

Rock Army Music was formally known as Tour Dates. When Tourdates was bought by Launch in 2000, I who had worked for them rebuilt the site under the name Tourdatenow, and more than half the reps followed me to the new site. Due to circumstances, and health issues, I was forced to take a hiatus, and the website was closed down, but not before purchasing the domain RockArmyMusic. I am in the process of rebuilding this site and am currently accepting applications for reps. Please read the details below.

I am looking for people who would like to be Rock Army Music Regional Representatives. These are some of the requirements to be a Regional Representative:

This is an unpaid position for which you are a volunteer, which would not be for everyone. We do not pay for your expenses. If you are still interested, read these facts.

You will get your own homepage (some html and webmaster skills required) Here is an example of a rep page Cleveland Ohio
If you have one, you can link to your own music website
Networking with bands and clubs in your area
Develope a relationship and gain free access to reporting clubs
Build your resume in the field of music, journalism, marketing, promotion and the internet.

Required Qualifications:

Writing experience (you do not need to be published, but this helps)
Some knowledge of the music industry
Reliable computer access ( we prefer PC's for submitting copy, but Macs are ok)
Occasional promotions that may require some of your spare time
Be at least 18 years of age
Have excellent communication skills
Be personally dependable

Your Responsibilities Would Include:

Contacting clubs/venues in your area for schedules
Maintaining a local scene rep page with a new story every month
Reviewing local and national shows in your area
Assisting with various regional promotions in your area

Numerous show reviews and album reviews. This has a whole lot of pacific northwest music. Murderess, Black Queen, Dogshredder & more.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: ASUANG by PAPER MONSTER PRESS

Asuang is an umbrella term for creatures that people our imagination. As blood suckers, they engender in us, a fear of the dark, of morbidity, of paleness, of incense. The fear that desires, the fear that suffocates, not just creatures but open spaces and high places. Fear of beings that when looked at mirrors or through other eyes, resemble perhaps, ourselves? Then here maybe, there be monsters?

Asuang then calls not just for darkness but for hallucinogen, psychedelia, kaleidoscopic narratives in whatever genre.

Specifically, we ask for:
1. 1-3 poems/ essays/ flash fiction (less than 500 words, English or Filipino)

2. 1-3 artworks in black/ white (in JPEG format)

3. 1-3 sound pieces in MP3 or Wav format

4. Critical essays about the small press/ underground publishing/ the culture of fanzines (also under 500 words)

5. Reviews of any issue of Paper Monster Press (and we’ve done 6 so far)

b. Issue 2: Free Tibet (about culture clash/ Buddhism/ heights/ climbing/ pure dizziness of clouds)
c. Issue 3: Time-space Warp (about timezones/ cultural differences/ time and space/ reincarnation/ and the endless echoes we can never reach)
d. Issue 4: Labyrinths (canals/ road bridges/ the strange and devious routes we take to fantasy/ intoxication/ escape)
