Call for submissions, zine on mental health, queerness and personal experience related to both.

doing a call for submissions for a new zine put out by revolt distro, in pdx, oregon. It is about mental health and queerness and peoples personal experiences. Personal stories, advice, pressure points, mood charts, challenges, accomplishments, dealing with your disability, dealing with the government, effects on day to day life, inspirational pieces of art, or reflective pieces of art. It will be a collaborative, the more we get as submissions the longer the zine will continue so please please invite your friends that would be interested in this call for ARTISTs! ♥ PEACE LOVE & REVOLUTION!

I'm in a trading moooood. I re-printed some of my early anit feminist zines from the 90's and i'd like to trade with some of you riot girlz. so if your tired of reading the same old party line write wiseblood and get a new perspective.

“The Funny Female Issue”

In the midst of the whole “feminism & comedy” debate this summer after the Daniel Tosh fiasco (where he told a girl in the audience that he would find it amusing if she were gang raped), people were beginning to make false claims that feminists were being “too serious” and couldn’t “take a joke”.

I thought about how the feminists in my life are the most hilarious people I have ever known. I reflected upon the funny female comedians, writers and humorous women on television that I have listened to, read and watched for years. I knew what the next theme of my fanzine needed to be…

This diverse 38 page issue contains a variety of submissions and pieces from hilarious self-identified feminists. Subject matter ranges from feminist performance pieces (“Size 2 Pants”-Guerrilla Girls on Tour!, “How to seduce a feminist”-Sarah Fox), Feminist Disney, comics ( “The Migrant Rights Activista on Her 21st B-day” “El Senor Bobo..”) the five stages of death concerning feminism within pop, men’s menstruation, satirical feminist songs, the debate between comedy and feminism itself, feminist jokes, Female Comics of Color, Samantha Bee on Abortion, “The Wisdom of Fran Lebowitz”, Daria Morgendorffer, fictional heroines and more! This issue is dedicated to every feminist who has ever been labeled “too angry” “too serious” or “too uptight”.

Tarantula Face: Slippery When Dyked is now in its first issue.

Its a perzine and it's 30 pages, half typewritten half handwritten.

Contents include: spoken word pieces, an unapologetic rant (a true riot grrrrrrrl never dies.grrrrrrrr), one night of my dream journal, boxing, canzine and my crush (a soon yet to be spoken word piece).

Thou Shalt Not Talk About The White Boys’ Club: Challenging The Unwritten Rules of Punk [click for excerpts]

Different Shades of normal is now in it's first issue.

It's 50 pages long and handwritten.

Topics include: mental illness (schizophrenia), self-destruction, etc. This zine's central focus is Love-whether Loving another or relearning to Love one self again.

HEY GUYS. So basically I'm writing a zine, kind of like a publication about the school girl phenomena etc. I'm going to write about the history of women's education and the school girl as an icon of culture. To make this work I'm going to need SUBMISSIONS.
