potential ideas for material include, but are not limited to:
we also totally need lots of artwork (photos, collages, illustrations, drawings, paintings, comics, etc.)! particularly for background designs and things that compliment the written material.
please aim to submit yr amazing material to hoaxzine@gmail.com by october 1st, 2011. if you are interested, feel free to e-mail us yr ideas for topics & artwork! while we are not totally inflexible with the submission date, we are also not in a position where we can continually push it back like we have with previous issues. the sooner you send us yr work, the better! people of all genders are welcome to submit!
also, we are still distributing back issues of hoax #2 (although we are almost out of our last print!) hoax #3, hoax #4 & hoax #5. please email us if you would like to obtain any of these issues!
it’s been nearly two and a half years since we first began working on hoax. neither of us can believe how much this project has expanded since then! thank you so much to every contributor, reader, & supporter of this zine!
we are looking forward to seeing yr work!
in solidarity,
sari & rachel

You are invited to submit ideas for workshops, demonstrations, or discussions you would like to lead pertaining to any aspect of DIY print and publishing culture that interests you.
Comment by Necro Neil on March 1, 2011 at 5:26pm Hi, Im a riot boy (used to be a riot grrrl ;) ) who writes a horror fanzine called Necronomicon, its upto issue 17 now. Its sort of a personal diary whilst watching horror films. Im a feminist so I review horror films in that view point also, as I detest horror review writers who fixate on female nudity and I do not tolerate horror films with cliche weak female characters.
Ive been writing zines for half of my life now! I grew up in and contributed and socialised in the riot grrrl scene and still love it.

A6 (quarter) sized, 40 pages, pretty text-heavy
The latest issue of my perzine focuses on the history of my relationship with the internet (including my first experiences of using it in a small-town library, its role in facilitating my partner and I getting together & why I no longer use livejournal or facebook); and my diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder (including a breakdown of its definition, my own experience of its symptoms and a reflection on its validity - or otherwise - as a diagnosis). There are also handwritten intro and outros, a "guess the lyrics" quiz and some yummy winter soup recipes (suitable for vegans). It's partly typewritten, partly handwritten and was made cut and paste style.
Please visit this post on my blog for information on how to get a copy.
