Not sure how many of you are near or available for this event, but we'd love to see more representation from other Southern states at the Richmond Zine Fest. It's a full day event on Saturday October 5th with workshops, activities, and of course plenty of zines. Registration for tablers is still open and so are workshop proposals. More information is available at and will soon be added to our website: http://richmondzinefest.org.

Please participate in this interconnected story I would like to tell based on my eclectic artsy friends from all over the world. Meaning you! Take pictures, share thoughts, feelings, hopes, emotions ON THE DATE OF DECEMBER 21st.

Is it the end of the beginning or the beginning of the end? Does it matter?

I will be putting together Abstract By Nature #3 - a zine anthology of all of our works.

Please send pictures, art work, poetry, short stories, sex stories, band stories, testimonials, etc.

*No longer than half of a page.

I hope to hear from you!

I just finished putting together a zine that was two years(!) in the making:

Nashville Transit is about riding public transit during the early months of my transition. I basically journal-ed my experiences with street harassment and then typed them out, with very little edits/commentary. I also talk about the importance of public space and who has power in public spaces. 1/2 size zine with cardstock cover, cut and paste style, mostly text. Please get at me if you'd like to trade or wholesale: nervous.nelly.records@gmail.com or http://nervousnelly.storenvy.com/products/638932-nashville-transit-...

Hey all.  We have officially handed off the management of the Radical South Zine Archive to the university and their amazing radical librarians.  What this means is further donations will be going directly to them.  I am re-posting the original call for submissions with the new information as to where to send it.  Thank you to everyone who has submitted amazing southern zines and keep them coming!

Call for Submissions/Donations
Radical Southern Zine Archive Project
University of Alabama

The University of Alabama is looking for submissions/donations for a new archive that will collect zines from Southern authors, and zines about Southern experience. This collection will be housed within the W.S. Hoole Special Collections Library and once cataloged will be available for any scholar or zine enthusiast looking for research opportunities or just a nice afternoon read. This project began as the brainchild of our students and staff who have been creating zines, using zines in the classroom, and have a general love of all things zine related.

The goal of the collection is to gather together the work of individuals who are writing in the South, writing about the South and zinsters who are Southerners living across the world. It is our belief and hope that the Radical Southern Zine Archive will help bring together the work being produced everywhere about the South and house it where all can enjoy it. We want all those Southern perspectives so send us your zines and let’s get this process started. If anyone has any questions please email us and we will get back to you ASAP.

The official opening of the Radical Southern Zine Archive will take place in September, and will kick off a yearlong celebration of the zine and the zine community. We look forward to hearing from each and every one of you.

Send your zines to:
