Queer Zines and Queer Zinesters

Are you a queer zinester (broadly defined, of course)? Do you write about your genderfucking, transitioning, same-and-other-gender lovin' experiences, or about queer and LBGTQ communities and cultures? If so, let's start talking about it.

Call for Submissions: Compilation zine seeking content from non-cisgender folks with experiences of sexual violence

In response to the binarism that pervades the majority of resources regarding recovery from sexual violence, I'm hoping to develop a compzine exploring non-cis (I use this term in an attempt to be as inclusive as possible – there exists an incredible diversity of gendered identities and experiences, and in attempting to delineate all possible permutations, I'm afraid I may inadvertently neglect someone) experiences of sexual trauma. I'm particularly interested in the ways in which non-cis identity may intersect with experiences of embodiment after sexual violence.

My hope for this project is to create a document that may serve as a point of reference for those navigating their own experiences of embodiment after sexual trauma.

Submissions can include poetry, non-fiction writing, visual art, and any other means by which you may want to express your experience. If you have a question, comment, suggestion, or submission, please e-mail tim (dot) c (dot) mcconnell (at) gmail (dot) com.

Submission deadline: August 31, 2014

Hot Trash Zine is a Bay Area feminist art and music zine. We provide an OPEN space for anyone and everyone to be an artist, a writer, a poet, and an activist. We take open submissions, so send your art and writings to hottrashzine@mail.com. No entries will be turned away for extreme vulgarity or obscenity, so be as nasty, as dirty, and as trashy as you want.
This is free speech, baby.

Seeking Real Queer Sex stories

I am launching a new zine project in which I will illustrate true stories of queer sex. (I am using the broad definition of queer as non-hetronomative and/or non-binary)

My ethos of inclusivity, sensitivity and honesty will be applied to Real Queer Sex, I want to represent the range of forms queer sex can take and the range of people who engage in it of every age, gender identity, sexuality, shape, size, race…

No story is too short or long to share, or too “vanilla” or kinky…

Thank you!

If you would like to submit a story please go to www.realqueersex.tumblr.com

If you would like to find out more about me www.theoysterknife.co.uk

By submitting your story you agree that it might be quoted, illustrated and published in my book titled “Real Queer Sex”.

Call for two-spirit writers and their associates!

Wagonburners is a 'zine about the environmental battle being waged against Indian Country by unscrupulous corporations and private individuals. We welcome submissions from all of our associates (allies is played out), particularly from the LGBTIQA+ community.

Please contact Wagonburners via our homepage, HOWEVER, this is not a project that will focus on Native traditions, spirituality or the like. Any serious submission heeding these guidelines will be considered.

Wagonburners cannot pay for your submission at this time, but each contributing writer will be sent a copy of their work, free of charge.

Seems pretty quiet. Is it always this quiet?

Hey friends! I recently posted a blog post about my zine and my connection to the zine community. I also put a bunch of my zines up on my etsy shop. I'd love it if you could check them out! <3

Everywhere All The Time #2: Bright Sunny Days, Dark Sacred Nights is the second issue of my travel media zine featuring stories from a year spent traveling and living in Ecuador. From hiking in the northern highlands to a shack on the Pacific coast, the zine spans terrain, time and mood through text and black and white photos. The writing is influenced by my identities – queer, mestiza, POC, feminist, writer, weirdo – and is cut by quotes from Junot Díaz, Gloria Anzaldúa and James Baldwin. 36 pages, typewritten/handwritten and some computer writing, black and white with color cover. Order (on Etsy) here!
