Queer Zines and Queer Zinesters

Are you a queer zinester (broadly defined, of course)? Do you write about your genderfucking, transitioning, same-and-other-gender lovin' experiences, or about queer and LBGTQ communities and cultures? If so, let's start talking about it.

I'm pulling together a collective of creative work by women around the world into a series of zines called Dainty As Fuck. I am asking you all very politely to submit creative material of any kind, be it poetry, short story (fiction or non-fiction), photography, drawings, or whatever else tickles your fancy. The deadline for all material will be the 1st of December 2011, so you have plenty of time to get your stuff to me. The aim is to have the first of the zines published by the 1st of January 2012, and will be available at Sticky in Melbourne CBD. If you do not live in the Melbourne area or wish to have an electronic copy sent to you, don't hestitate to email me.

Please email your submissions and/or any questions to fkyeahactivism@yahoo.com by the 1st of December 2011. I would greatly appreciate your input :)

**Make sure you type "zine" or "dainty as fuck" or something along those lines in the subject line of your email or it will be deleted.**

Please invite your FEMALE friends. Submissions can be of any genre, it's completely up to you (checkout the Facebook page
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=121957441218810 )

Any submissions that don't make it into the first edition, will be published in subsequent editions. Please include your name exactly as you want it to appear on each submission, even if it's just anonymous.

Many thanks in advance :)

you’ve got a friend in pennsylvania #4 in finished! inspired by all of the hard work put into the latest issue of hoax as well as the fact that i graduated from college today (and don’t know when i could print zines next), i decided to overexert myself and put out a new issue of my perzine in under 2 days. its fairly short at 20 pages & 1/4 size, but is super text-heavy! #4 is about actively staying single while queer and some reflections on coming out as trans* (particularly in the zine community). $2 US // $3 international (includes shipping), or trade! please e-mail youvegotafriendinpa(at)gmail(dot)com or click here for more info!

Bonjour!

I am, overall, new to wemakezines and essentially new to the Zine community. I've been trying to make a zine for a couple years and always chickened out until now. I'm almost getting through my first one with intentions on creating a Queer Zine series as well. Though, that being put aside, I am looking for your help.

I am a director in a resource centre for my university on queer issues. As a part of my position, I have to give a demonstration on the second week of school. Which has just now sprung up on me. I was told I may do my presentation on what ever topic I wish to do. I have chosen Alternative Press and Queerpunk (AKA, Queer zines!)

If you know of any resources, I would be so happy if you will care to indulge me. Though, another thing, and this may be quite a bit to ask, I dunno:

If you would be so kind as to send me an excerpt from any zine you have created revolving around queer issues, rights, movements, experiences, etc. for me to give a verbal reading, I would be MORE than happy! If you do this? I will more than happily buy your zine as well (Not to mention I will be pushing to buy zines as resources for the centre, so chances are I will be getting two copies). I'll even be willing to trade something for it.

If you're willing to help me out, I will try to pay you back in someway and love you forever. You can message me on this if you're interested, or to this email:
