genderqueer / androgynous / bigender / gender variant zine!

hey y'all! i am formally advertising my intention to start and edit a compilation zine for those of us who don’t fit into neatly organized gender boxes. i would like find submissions on a wide variety of issues pertaining to our experiences, including, but not limited to: language/pronouns, how gender pertains to sexuality & the gendered nature of sexual relations, feeling outcast in various aspects of day-to-day life, whether or not to “come out” to friends/family/strangers, being of a non-binary gender at yer job, hirstory of androgyny, pressure to balance “masculinity” and “femininity” in actions/characteristics/appearance, queer theory in relation to gender, being erased or alienated in spaces that should be supportive, and so forth!

 

art is also definitely welcomed and desired for this project! if you’d like to submit or have any ideas, please let me know! youvegotafriendinpa(at)gmail(dot)com. the deadline for submissions will be march 31, 2011!

I'd been turning over the idea of starting a genderqueer submission-based zine/magazine in my head for a while. I am going to try to submit something to this.

Have you considered seeing if genderqueer.tumblr.com or genderfork.com will post your call for submissions?
